The AEC-Q200 compliant transformers were designed to meet compact, high power density requirements in automotive, industrial and energy storage applications.
Bourns, Inc. has launched a new AEC-Q200 compliant, automotive-grade, low-profile, high-creepage isolation transformer. The Bourns® Model HVMA03F4A-LP8S Series flyback transformer is engineered to facilitate high power density, enhancing efficiency within a compact design. These features are essential in several applications, including gate drives and high-voltage battery management systems (BMS).
This new range of flyback transformers enhances Bourns’ collection of low-power, high-creepage isolation transformers. This series functions on a standard 12 V supply with an expanded input voltage range of 10 to 24 V, and incorporates an innovative coil mechanical design that enhances system performance and safety. The Model HVMA03F4A-LP8S Series is optimally suited for Silicon Carbide (SiC), IGBT, and Gallium Nitride (GaN) switching components in automotive, industrial, and energy storage applications.
The Model HVMA03F4A-LP8S Series features a center-tapped output that produces a ±5 V supply to facilitate the biasing of gate drive activation and deactivation circuits. This new series adheres to AEC-Q200 standards and incorporates a fundamental insulation layer that meets the IEC 60664-1 standard, with a maximum operating voltage of 800 VDC. The device includes an 8 mm creepage and 2 mm clearance, with a Hi-Pot isolation voltage of up to 2750 VAC and an expanded operating temperature range of -40 to +125 °C.
The Bourns® Model HVMA03F4A-LP8S Series is currently available and complies with RoHS* standards.
